4 killed in criminals' bid to loot a bank in Bihar

Patna: Three miscreants were killed by police while fleeing after looting a bank in Bihta sub-division of Patna district even as a guard of the bank was shot dead by the miscreants on June 10, police said.

Five motor-cycle borne criminals barged into a Canara Bank branch at Bihta, about 25 km from Patna, in a bid to loot the bank and when the guard resisted them they fired at him from close range killing him on the spot, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police, Patna range, Ravindra Kumar told reporters.

He said a joint team of Bihta and Naubatpur police encountered the criminals fleeing on motorcycles near Kurths village in Naubatpur block.

Three of them were gunned down by the police while two others were arrested, he added.
