New Delhi: Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee is likely to attend for a day, the four-day brainstorming
session to be held in Vasai, New Mumbai, from June 17, which is expected to discuss the election
manifesto of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the Assembly elections.
The meeting, which is also expected to be attended by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) top brass
is likely to discuss the broad features of a common manifesto for the Lok Sabha polls next year, party
sources said.
"As the party might go alone in the Assembly elections, it has been decided to have its own manifesto
for the polls in the four states slated for later this year," the sources said.
The sources said, even though the party is aiming for 300 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, it would opt
for continuing the coalition government with its allies.
Among the top BJP leaders who will be attending the meeting include Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani,
Finance Minister Jaswant Singh, External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha and Parliamentary Affairs
Minister Sushma Swaraj.
