Nagpur: Warning that Assam was on the verge of becoming another Kashmir, with the Muslim
population "showing an upward trend", Rashtiya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on June 10 said the
number of Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) centres, illegal madrasas and mosques had gone up in the
entire North East.
"There were only 10 districts where population of Hindus was more than 70 per cent, while rest 13
districts were having a majority of Muslim population, including those of illegal migrants," RSS chief K S
Sudarshan said, while addressing swayamsewaks during the concluding session of third year "Sangh
Shiksha Varg" at Reshimbagh ground in Nagpur.
He said the number of ISI centres, illegal madrasas and mosques have gone up in the entire North East,
including Assam and alleged that Pakistan was helping these illegal centres.
Endorsing the views of West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharya on the issue, the Sangh
chief said Bhattacharya's views were suppressed by Leftists.
Quoting a recently released book "Religious Demography Of India", Sudarshan said the population of
Christians and Muslims had gone up during the last 110 years between 1881 to 1991, while that of
Hindus had come down by 11 per cent.
"If the situation continues, by year 2061, there will be about 50 population of non-Hindus in the country,"
he said.
