Russian Foreign Minister to visit India next week
Tuesday, June 10 2003 22:20 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov is arriving in New Delhi on June 15 on a three-day visit to discuss bilateral and international security issues.

Ivanov will meet External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha on June 16 and discuss ties between the two countries.

He is expected to call on Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee during his stay, an External Affairs Ministry spokesman said.

Ivanov will leave for Cambodia on June 17 to attend a meeting of Foreign Ministers of the 10-member Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN).

He will visit Pakistan before travelling to India.

Threats of terrorism, extremism and illegal drug trafficking emanating from Afghanistan and Pakistan would top Ivanov's agenda during his talks with Pakistani leaders.
