Marwah, Aravind take charge of Jharkhand, Manipur

Ranchi: Ved Prakash Marwah on June 12 took oath as Jharkhand Governor at a simple swearing in
ceremony at the Raj Bhavan in Ranchi.
Chief Justice of Jharkhand Justice Balasubramaniam administered the oath of office and secrecy to
Marwah.
Former Jharkhand Governor M Rama Jois left for Patna in the morning to take oath as Bihar Governor.
Prior to his taking charge here, Marwah was the Governor in Manipur and a former member of the
National Security Advisory Board.
Chief Minister Arjun Munda, Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari and several ministers and dignitaries
congratulated Marwah on assuming office.
Marwah, born on September 1932 at Peshawar now in Pakistan, had also served as advisor to the
government of Jammu and Kashmir, special secretary, internal security in the ministry of home affairs,
director general of National Security Guards, commissioner of police, Kolkata, joint secretary, National
Police Commission and first secretary High Commission of India in London.
Meanwhile, in Imphal former Arunachal Pradesh Governor Arvind Dave was sworn in as the 10th
Governor of Manipur.
Guwahati High Court Chief Justice P P Naolekar administered the oath of office and secrecy to Dave at
a simple function, attended by the Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh,
his ministerial colleagues and other high officials.
Senior BJP leader and former Chief minister R K DoreNdra Singh state NCP President S Tiken Singh,
state JD(U) president W KulabiDhu Singh, state BJP president M Bhorot
Singh and leaders of different political parties were also present
Davere replaced Ved Marwah who has been appointed Governor of Jharkhand.
