Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Mohammad Yaseen Malik was on June 12 arrested in South Kashmir's Anantnag district while he was participating in a signature campaign on India-Pakistan talks to resolve Kashmir issue.

Malik, along with senior party leaders Javed Ahmad Mir and Noor Mohammad Kalwal, was taken into custody at Heller in Kokernag area of the district where they began the signature campaign on June 11, police sources said.

Meanwhile a JKLF spokesman, confirming the arrests, said the other party leaders accompanying Malik had not yet reported at the party headquarters and were probably detained along with the JKLF chairman.
