Faizabad: Ramjanambhoomi Nyas president Mahant Paramhans Ramchander Dass, who suffered a massive heart attack on June 12 morning at Ayodhya, is being brought to Lucknow by a special government plane.

The Mahant was expected to be brought to Lucknow soon, sources said. The special plane carrying a team of doctors has left for Faizabad from Lucknow, the sources said, adding the Mahant is likely to be admitted to the Sanjay Gandhi PGI.

A large number of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, including state president Vinay Katiyar, and others rushed to Faizabad district hospital on hearing about Dass's condition.

Civil police have been posted outside the hospital as a precautionary measure.
