Chennai: AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) will have a "decisive role" to play in
national politics after 2004 Lok Sabha polls and there was no question of AIADMK aligning with the
Congress so long as Sonia Gandhi was projected for the Prime Ministership, AIADMK leader and Tamil
Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said on June 13.
"No combination will be able to form a government on its own without the support of the AIADMK at the
Centre," she said addressing a press conference at the secretariat.
There was scope for a third front at the national level, but all major political parties were now busy in the
ensuing Assembly polls to five states. "Only when they are free from the poll work, will they be able to sit
together and discuss these matters," she said.
"As long as Congress projected its President, Sonia Gandhi, for the Prime Ministership, there was no
question of AIADMK aligning with Congress," she said.
