New Delhi: In a rare Presidential visit, A P J Abdul Kalam will make a two-day tour of Jammu and Kashmir
on June 25 and 26, when he will present colours to the state police and attend the convocation of
Jammu and Kashmir University.
This is the first Presidential visit to Jammu and Kashmir in two decades.
The presentation of colours will be done in Srinagar while the university convocation is to be in Jammu,
official sources said. He is likely to meet children in all the three regions of the state, the sources said.
During the visit, he would also be having an interaction with the Members of Legislative Assembly
(MLAs), the first such dialogue after the Assembly elections held earlier this year, sources said.
Since assuming the highest office, Kalam has been travelling extensively within the country and meeting
a cross section of the people and also having interaction with children.
The President's detailed schedule is expected to be finalised soon.
