4 Pak Lashkar militants killed, weaponry seized

Jammu: Four Pakistani militants belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) were killed in an encounter with
security forces in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on June 14 official sources said.
On a tip off, police and Army troops in Hardi mountains of Surankote belt in Poonch district launched a
joint operation on June 14 morning, they said.
During the search operation, militants fired and threw grenades on the joint operation party, who
retaliated killing four top Pakistani ultras belonging to LeT around 12.30 am (IST), the sources said,
adding two militants were still in the cordon of the security personnel.
Four AK rifles, two pistols, 14 magazines, 210 rounds, eight grenades, three improvised explosive
devices (IEDs), two radio sets, 17 detonators and some documents were recovered from the site.
The operation was still on, when reports last came in, they said.
The troops foiled a major tragedy, when they recovered 4.5 kg IED fitted with a detonator from
Thanamandi area of Rajouri district on June 13 night and defused it, they added.
