I'm an unfortunate person, laments Nitish Kumar
Saturday, June 14 2003 18:57 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Reacting to derailment of Gokul Express near Mathura, which claimed two lives, Railway Minister Nitish Kumar on June 14 termed himself as an "unfortunate" person, who has to give explanation after every accident.

He said as Railway Minister he has to make a statement after every train accident, which affects his image.

"I have been given a second term as Railway Minister, which very few people have got so far. But I consider myself to be unfortunate," Kumar said.

Two persons, a passenger and a cyclist, were killed and 25 injured when Mathura-bound Gokul Express derailed near Raya, some 19 kms from Mathura on June 13 evening.
