Pune: The Maharashtra-Karnataka boundary dispute is no longer a big issue now, according to
Karnataka Chief Minister S M Krishna.
Addressing the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Kannada Sangha, where his counterpart Sushilkumar
Shinde was also present, Krishna said Maharashtra has taken giant strides in development and
Karnataka was taking a leaf from
it.
He said Maharashtra has the legacy of industrialists like Kirloskar, who have left indelible mark in the
state.
Krishna said the more one talks about boundary and water disputes, the issue becomes big. Hence care
should be taken not to incite public sentiments.
In his address, Shinde spoke about the cultural links between the two states.
Earlier, talking to reporters at another function, Shinde reiterated that there was no political pressure
behind transfer of IAS officer Ratnakar Gaikwad, which was for administrative reasons.
