Trust before any solution on Kashmir: Musharraf

Lahore: For the issue regarding Kashmir, there are 10 or 12 ways out. One solution has to be hit upon,
but Pakistan needs to be prepared for it, according to President Pervez Musharraf.
The Chenab formula has its own merit, he told 'Geo TV' in an interview, but added, "We have to restore
the atmosphere of trust before talking about any solution."
Replying to questions about Pak-India relations, he welcomed recent statements by L K Advani, saying
that both countries would have to resolve the Kashmir issue through dialogue.
But Musharraf clearly stated that it would be meaningless to award a most favoured nation (MFN) status
to India without the Kashmir solution.
Speaking on the Israeli issue, Musharraf remarked that in view of the changing international scenario,
Pakistan has to consider whether it needs a review or not, reports 'The News'. The subject has to be
taken up seriously, not with any emotional underpinning, and Islamabad would also consult other Islamic
nations on forging ties with Israel, according to him.
Musharraf expressed the hope that Israeli-Palestinian talks for the establishment of peace in the Middle
East would be successful. In reply to a question, he said no decision had been taken so for to send
military troops to Iraq.
