No bias against Cong-ruled states on drought: PM
Tuesday, June 17 2003 17:00 Hrs (IST)

Jabalpur: Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on June 17 categorically asserted that there was no discrimination against the Congress-ruled states in the matter of drought relief.

"We are giving them whatever is required. There is no question of any discrimination against them (Congress-ruled states)," Vajpayee told reporters at Jabalpur airport.

He was responding to a question on the charges levelled by the Madhya Pradesh government that Centre was discriminating against Congress-ruled states on the issue of drought relief.

The Prime Minister, however, did not reply to a question on who would lead the party in the coming elections.
