Break point for Serena; eyes Hollywood
Wednesday, June 18 2003 17:26 Hrs (IST)

New York: Tennis queen Serena Williams has expressed her desire to break into Hollywood, while planning to be selective in her career choices.

The top Wimbledon seed has already turned down a part in an upcoming tennis-themed film alongside Spider-Man star Kirsten Dunst, according to a report in ‘Hello’.

Apparently, Serena has no zeal to take part in "Wimbledon", which is directed by BAFTA-nominated Brit Richard Loncraine. "I believe I am a good actress and I have a lot of skill", said the 21-year-old player.

"I want to challenge myself and playing a tennis role isn't challenging at all," she added.

The top-ranker has already launched her fledgling career, starring in commercials and making an appearance as a schoolteacher in the Damon Wayan's US sitcom "My Wife and Kids", the report said.

Serena has admitted that it's not just her selective approach that's been keeping her tinsel town dreams on the back burner.

"The other career I have - that other small career - is putting a hindrance on my acting," the athlete joked.
