Mumbai: A day after Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee lavished praise on L K Advani describing the
Deputy Prime Minister as "a source of strength", the latter said on June 19 that the peace initiative of
Vajpayee had won global acclaim.
As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders deliberated on strategies to win the 2004 Lok Sabha
elections during a brain-storming conclave,
Advani briefed them on his deliberations in US and UK and said
the peace initiative had received global acclaim.
"It has once again convinced the international community of Atalji's sincere efforts to establish peace
and normal relations with Pakistan and to resolve all bilateral issues with our neighbour through
dialogue", he said.
Other participants, who complimented Vajpayee on the peace initiative, appreciated the success in the
government's drive against cross-border terrorism and said that the drive should be further intensified.
BJP leaders on June 19 dwelt at length on the party's relations with its allies in National Democratic
Alliance (NDA) in different states and deliberated over the preparedness for achieving success in
the "Mission-2004".
