Jammu: Asserting that India should talk to Islamabad to get back Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK),
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Venkaiah Naidu on June 23 said the country will continue to fight
terrorism with iron hand.
"We have to talk to Pakistan to get one-third of Kashmir from them and that is why these talks are
necessary," Naidu said addressing party workers at a public meeting organised in connection with the
memorial function of Jan Sangh leader Shyama Prashad Mukherjee.
"Simultaneously, we have to fight to finish the menace of terrorism with iron hand," he said, adding, "We
want the world powers to work with us in this task."
Referring to Article 370, guaranteeing special status to Jammu and Kashmir, Naidu said it was an
important issue for the BJP and the Article had to be "abrogated sooner or later".
"Consensus has not emerged on it (Article 370) so far during last 55 years though it was said to be a
temporary measure," Naidu said.
"But, sooner or later this Article has to be abrogated as it is an important issue like Ram mandir and
abolition of cow slaughter for the BJP," he said.
Paying tributes to Mukherjee, Naidu said the Jan Sangh leader had sacrificed his life for the integrity of
the country and "people all over India should draw inspiration from him because he believed in the
concept that India is one and only one country".
