'Magadh Express rail accident due to sabotage'

New Delhi: The provisional findings into the derailment of 2391 Magadh Express on June 1, 2003 has
revealed that the accident occurred due to "sabotage".
The commissioner of Railway Safety-Eastern Circle, Mahesh Chand, in his provisional findings following
a statutory inquiry into the derailment has held that the accident occurred due to "sabotage", an official
release said.
The accident, which occurred at 3.25 am (IST) on June 1, 2003 between Baruna and Busar stations on
Patna-Moghalsarai electrified double line section of Danapur Division of East Central Railway left one
dead and 19 injured.
Out of these, 12 persons sustained serious injuries and seven received simple injuries.
The preliminary report of the commissioner is under the consideration of the government, the release
said.
