Chinese President, PM accept India's invitation

Beijing: Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao have accepted invitations to visit India, dates for which will be worked out through diplomatic channels.

The invitation to Hu from President A P J Abdul Kalam to visit India was conveyed by Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee when he called on the Chinese leader on June 24.

Vajpayee also invited his Chinese counterpart to come to India at a mutually convenient time, it was officially announced.

"The Chinese side accepted the invitations with appreciation. The dates of the visits will be settled through diplomatic channels," according to a joint declaration released by the two sides.
