Chandigarh: Former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has been booked by the state Vigilance
Bureau in a case of amassing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The case against Badal was registered in Vigilance police station at Mohali after 16 months of
investigation, Vigilance sources said.
In the past one month, the Vigilance Bureau has stepped up investigations against Badal and had also
arrested his NRI nephew N S Dhillon and raided the Akali leaders' house at Lambi in Muktsar district and
his farmhouse in Balasar in Sirsa district of Haryana.
Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had maintained that his government would produce "fool proof evidence
against Badal in the court".
After taking over as the Chief Minister of the state, Amarinder Singh had been charging Badal with
amassing properties to the tune of Rs 3500 crores outside the country during his 10 years tenure as the
Chief Minister.
Badal had accused Amarinder Singh of falsely implicating Akali leaders in various cases.
