Udhampur (Jammu): President A P J Abdul Kalam on June 26 asked the authorities in Jammu and
Kashmir to remove fear from the hearts of children and bring back smiles on their faces.
"It is the responsibility of the Governor, the Chief Minister, Army and police that they make the children
smile by removing fear from their hearts," Kalam said in the course of his speech at Sher-i-Kashmir
police academy after presenting colours to Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Kalam said that during his interaction with children from Jammu and Kashmir at Rashtrapati Bhavan, he
found they have given him a message that they want peace, happiness and removal of fear from their
hearts.
"They said we are happy people and love India and Jammu and Kashmir. Remove fear from us as we
are your children and children of Jammu and Kashmir," Kalam said and asked the Governor and the
Chief Minister, who were present, to understand this message.
