Dubai: Former Iraqi Information Minister Mohammed Said as-Sahhaf has claimed that he knows nothing about Saddam Hussein's whereabouts.

"I know nothing," Sahhaf told Abu Dhabi television in Baghdad when asked if he knew anything about "the former leadership", reports 'The News'.

To the suggestion that "it was the Iraqis, not America, who toppled Saddam" by failing to resist the US- led invasion forces, Sahhaf declined to comment.

Abu Dhabi TV aired the interview shortly after Dubai-based Al-Arabiya news channel broadcast excerpts of an interview with Sahhaf in which he said he had turned himself in to US forces who released him after questioning, 'The News' added.
