Mumbai: A special court has summoned 85 accused on bail in the 1993 bomb blast case to appear on
June 30 and allowed co-accused and film actor Sanjay Dutt to mark his presence on July 1.
Designated judge P D Kode had exempted actor Sanjay Dutt from appearance till June end and allowed
him to go abroad to perform stage shows. He will return on June 30 and appear before the court on the
next day, his lawyer Farhana Shah said.
About 30 accused, lodged in central prison, would also be produced before the court of designated
judge P D Kode on June 30. Eighty-five accused, on bail, have been directed to appear on the same
day.
The examination of witnesses on evidence against accused Ejaz Pathan has concluded. Four witnesses,
including Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) superintendent of police O P Chhatwal, who had
recorded Pathan's alleged confession, have deposed. Investigating officer Pramod Mudbhatkal also
tendered evidence last week.
Altogether, 684 witnesses have deposed so far in the trial that commenced in 1995. About 13,000
