PM undergoes minor eye surgery; advised rest

New Delhi: Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee underwent a minor eye surgery under local anaesthesia on June 29 morning at the Army's Research and Referral Hospital.

The surgery was performed by a team of doctors headed by Professor Madan Mohan.

The surgery was a "success", a Prime Minister's Office (PMO) spokesman said, adding Vajpayee had returned to his Race Course Road residence.

The PM has been advised rest for the next few days, the spokesman added.
