New Delhi: Congress on June 30 expressed its "broad acceptance" to whatever has been agreed upon both Tibet and Sikkim during the just-concluded visit to China by Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.

"After studying the joint declaration in some detail, we think what has been agreed upon on both Tibet and Sikkim is broadly acceptable to our party," party spokesman S Jaipal Reddy told reporters.

He said the visit was a continuation of the historic process started by late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1988, which was carried forward by Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao.

Reddy said when debate would take place in Parliament on the issue, his party would like to know from the Prime Minister the Chinese attitude towards cross border terrorism in India and whether the issue of alleged supplies of nuclear material to Pakistan by Beijing figured during the talks with the Chinese leadership.
