Nalin Surie is India's next Ambassador to China

New Delhi: Nalin Surie, Additional Secretary in the External Affairs Ministry, was on June 30 appointed India's next Ambassador to China succeeding Shiv Shankar Menon.

Surie is expected to take up his assignment shortly, an official announcement said.

Menon is slated to move to Islamabad as India's High Commissioner to Pakistan in the middle of next month.

A 1973 batch IFS officer, Surie has served in Hong Kong, Brazil, Dar-e-Salaam, Thimpu, New York and Warsaw besides having worked in various capacities in the Ministry.
