Pak fights terror on West, abets it on East: India

London: India has accused Pakistan of adopting double standards in its fight against terrorism - leading
the fight on the Western front in Afghanistan and being a perpetrator of the menace on the Eastern side.
"You can't have double standards. In the Western front, our neighbour (Pakistan) is in the forefront in
the fight against terrorism while it has become perpetrator of terrorism in the Eastern front," Arun Jaitley,
Minister for Law, Justice and Commerce, said on June 29 night.
Addressing the annual day function of the Overseas Friends of Bharatiya Janata Party (UK) at the SKLP
Sports and Community Centre at Northholt, on the outskirts of the city, Jaitley said the age of redrawing
geographical map through tactics of terror is over.
M Venkaiah Naidu, national president of BJP, cautioned that the headquarters of Taleban were shifting
from Afghanistan to Pakistan and said, "That is the greatest threat to peace in the region."
The Taleban did not believe in Democracy. "They want to destroy everything," he said.
Naidu said the Indian government has a two-pronged strategy to deal with the Kashmir issue. On the
one side, it wanted to resolve it through dialogue and on the other "crush terrorism mercilessly" and fight
the battle against terrorism on its own.
The BJP president said local recruitment in terror acts has reduced considerably and "outsiders" fighting
jihad in Kashmir are dealt with appropriately. "We are moving towards putting down terrorism with an iron
hand," he said.
