Islamabad: Pakistan police arrested and subsequently released the son of deposed Premier Nawaz
Sharif's brother Shahbaz, amidst reports that a deal has been reached under which Shahbaz's wife and
daughters would leave the country in a few days to join the rest of the exiled family in Jeddah.
Hamza Sharif was arrested in a posh locality of Lahore on June 29 night and subsequently
released, 'Geo TV' reported.
According to reports, a deal was struck between Hamza and the authorities, who wanted to deport his
mother Nusrat and sisters, Rabia and Javeria to Jeddah, that the three would leave the country early
this week.
Police subsequently lifted the three-day siege laid on Sharif's house in Lahore to trace the three women.
Pakistan's Interior Minister Faisel Saleh Hayat said on June 28 that the three would be sent back to
Jeddah where the Sharifs have been exiled.
He said the three were allowed to return for conducting the marriages of Rabia and Javeria, but over-
stayed without making any efforts to get them married, he said.
Hamza had even approached the Lahore High Court to prevent their forcible deportation.
