4 militants among 5 killed in separate incidents JK

Jammu: Four militants were among five people killed, while six people, including a jawan, were injured in
a grenade attack in separate militancy-related incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.
Two top militant belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) were killed on July 1 when militants engaged
police, who were conducting a cordon and search operation in Ganjote area in Udhampur district, in a
fierce gun battle, the sources said, adding the ultras were identified as Umar Farooq and Abu Furman,
both residents of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).
A boy, Mukhtiyar, of village Daligam, who was in their captivity for last two months was also rescued by
police and two AK rifles recovered from their possession, they said.
In another encounter at Surankote in Poonch district on July 1 morning, a terrorist identified as Shahid
Bali, a Pakistan national, was gunned down and arms and ammunition recovered from him, the sources
said.
Militants abducted and killed panchayat member Javed Khan of village Chandle in Doda district on June
30 night, they said adding his body was recovered on July 1.
An ultra was killed in a shootout after Border Security Force (BSF) troops, on specific information,
launched an operation in Ramakunda area in Gool tehsil in Udhampur district on June 30 night, the
sources said adding arms and ammunition were recovered from the unidentified militant.
A Srinagar report said six people, including a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan, were injured
when militants hurled a grenade at a security picket, but it missed the target and exploded at the
crowded Achabal bus stand in Anantnag town, official sources said.
