Two PWG naxals killed in encounter in Andhra

Guntur: Two naxals of People's War Group (PWG) were shot dead in an exchange of fire with police in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh early on July 1, police said.

A police team had spotted the ultras and the two got engaged in a gun battle at a spot between Krosuru and Ananatavaram villages, leading to the killing of two ultras.

Superintendent of police A Ravishanker said the naxals were yet to be identified.

Claymore mine, soap bombs, kits and pamphlets appealing to villagers to boycott Janmabhoomi programme were found scattered near the bodies, he added.
