14 feared dead in train accident in Andhra
Wednesday, July 2 2003 11:51 Hrs (IST)

Hyderabad: At least 14 persons are feared killed in a freak rail accident in Andhra Pradesh on July 2 morning when two bogies of Golconda Express derailed and fell from a rail overbridge hitting two auto- rikshaws near Warangal town.

The mishap occurred around 09:00 hours (IST) when Hyderabad-bound Golconda Express derailed a few yards from Warangal railway station, about 150 km from Hyderabad, police said.

Quoting preliminary reports, police said brake failure could have led to the bogies capsizing and plunging from the rail overbridge.

The occupants of auto-rikshaws were among the dead, police said.
