Nitish orders inquiry into Andhra train mishap

Patna: Railway Minister Nitish Kumar announced an inquiry by the Commissioner, Railway Safety (South), into the July 2 train accident in Andhra Pradesh in which at least 14 persons were killed.

Minister of State for Railways Bandaru Dattatreya, Railway Board Chairman and General Manager of South Central Railway were rushing to the accident site, Kumar said.

Asked about the ex-gratia payment to the victims' families, Kumar said it would be announced by Dattatreya at Warangal.

Two bogies of Hyderabad-bound Golconda Express derailed and fell from a rail overbridge, hitting two autorikshaws near Warangal town on July 2 morning, killing 14 persons and injuring about 15.
