Lucknow: As All Indian Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) prepares to discuss Kanchi seer Jayendra Saraswati's fresh proposals to resolve the Ayodhya issue, All India Babri Masjid Action Committee (AIBMAC) on July 4 said there would be no compromise on the site of the mosque.

"There will be no compromise on the site of the Babri mosque," Zafaryab Jilani, convenor of AIBMAC and a member of the Board, said.

The 51-member executive committee of AIMPLB will meet in Lucknow on July 6 to discuss the seer's proposal.

Contrary to reports, Kanchi seer Jayendra Saraswathi would not attend the meeting, AIMPLB spokesman Maulana Sajjad Nomani said.

"Shankaracharya is not scheduled to visit Lucknow in this regard on that day, and hence the question of him attending the meeting does not arise," he said.

This would be exclusively a Muslim Personal Law Board meeting just for considering the seer's formula, the spokesman said.

No member of the AIPLB would hold any meeting at personal level with Shankaracharya in this matter, Nomani said.

Recalling December 3, 1990, resolution of AIMPLB, Jilani said it had been decided then that there would be no compromise on the site of the Babri mosque in Ayodhya.

"A similar resolution was passed again on January 9, 1993, in which the members of the Board reiterated that change in the site of the mosque was not negotiable,", he said.
