India strongly condemns Moscow bomb attack
Sunday, July 6 2003 20:03 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: India on July 6 strongly condemned the terrorist attack at a rock concert in Moscow which claimed at least 17 lives, saying it further strengthened the resolve to fight the menace of terrorism with renewed vigour and determination.

Expressing deep sympathy and solidarity with the people and government of Russia, an External Affairs Ministry statement said, "We stand together with the Russian Federation in the fight against terrorism which seeks to undermine the very basis of civilised dialogue within Democratic, pluralistic societies."

Stating that wanton acts of terror could not be justified on any grounds, it said the global menace must be eradicated and New Delhi was committed to address the issue with Russia in bilateral and multilateral forums.
