Train derails near AP-K'taka border, one killed

Chittoor (AP): One person has died and at least 20 passengers are reported to have been injured as Pakala-Bellary derailed in Chitoor district early on July 6.

Three coaches and the engine of the train have derailed near the Andhra-Karnataka border.

The dead person is the assistant driver of the train, according to reports.

The derailment occurred at around 2:30 am near Madanpalli.

The incident has occurred within a fortnight of the Konkan railway accident, in which over 50 people had died.
