BJP tried to isolate us on Ayodhya issue: VHP
Sunday, July 6 2003 20:04 Hrs (IST)
Kanyakumari: Continuing his fulmination against the Vajpayee government on Ayodhya, Vishwa Hindu
Parishad (VHP) chief Ashok Singhal on July 6 said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had tried to isolate
the VHP on the temple issue and it was better that the party sought a fresh mandate in view of its failure
to fulfil the promise of a Legislation on Ayodhya.
"BJP's Palampur resolution had stated that the issue would be resolved through negotiations or
Legislation. The government should implement the resolution," Singhal told reporters just before leaving
the venue of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) national executive, which concluded July 6
afternoon.
"Even if they don't have the majority to pass the Legislation, they should place it before other parties.
And if they can't pass it they should go to the people," he said.
