MiG 23 crashes in Punjab; Pilot escapes unhurt

Chandigarh: An Indian Air Force (IAF) MiG 23-fighter plane crashed on July 7 near a village, some 30 kms from Ferozepur in Punjab, police said.

The pilot baled out safely and there were no casualties, Ferozepur senior superintendent of police (SSP) Praveen Kumar Sinha said.

A few electricity poles were uprooted when the plane crashed into the fields near village Mahianwala, he said.
