Pak militants kill 5 Hindus in Kashmir, 2 injured

Jammu: Pakistani militants on July 7 killed five Hindus and injured another in two border villages of Noushera sector in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, a senior police officer said.

An unspecified number of terrorists, in army uniform, allegedly sneaked into the Indian territory on July 7 morning and killed five civilians in Dhaneka and Langar villages in Noushera sector, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police, Rajouri-Poonch range, S M Sahai said.

One woman, identified as Deevano Devi was also injured in the firing by militants, he said, adding that she was being airlifted to Jammu for special treatment.

The deceased were identified as Kalidass (50), Joginder Lal (50), Munshi Raj (65), Tarawati (62) and Babli (30).

Police and security forces rushed to the border villages and launched a manhunt to track down the culprits.

Meanwhile, security forces killed one militant in an encounter at Chatroo-Dhar in Doda district on July 7, official sources added.
