India hopes to commence FTA negotiations with B'desh

New Delhi: India is hopeful of commencing negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Bangladesh by the year-end, External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha said on July 7.

"We hope to commence negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement with Bangladesh before the year end," Sinha said while delivering his inaugural address at the third meeting of India-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi.

He said India's total trade with Bangladesh stood at $ one billion.
