IBM launches new low-end server in Bangalore

Bangalore: IBM on July 8 announced the launch of a new low-end IBM eServer system expected to offer 110 per cent more performance at one-third lower cost than its predecessor p610 aimed at small and medium-sized business.

With this new system- p615 IBM now offers customers a complete range of servers from high-end to low- end, resulting in one of the fastest complete rollouts of 64-bit server chip technology in recent history, a company release said in Bangalore.

"IBM is committed to delivering UNIX systems with no compromises on performance of price," Puneet Gupta, Country Manager, pSeries, IBM India said.
