New Delhi: Sharing India's views on terrorism that no political aspiration justifies violence, Israel on July 8
sought New Delhi's support for its roadmap to peace in West Asia.
"It is possible to give peace a real chance" in West Asia, David Ivri, Special Envoy of Israel's Foreign
Minister, said after he briefed Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani on the "roadmap for peace" with
Palestine.
Asked about Advani's reaction to the briefing, he said "we are very much encouraged with the response
we received".
Stating that the issue of international terrorism did not come up for discussion at their 30-minute
meeting, Ivri said the two countries shared the same ideas and have the same interests in fighting the
global scourge.
However, he said "political aspirations do not justify any violence. There is no good terrorist or bad
terrorist" and both India and Israel feel the same way.
When his reaction was sought on the proposal before India to send its troops to Iraq, the Israeli leader
said while it was only for New Delhi to decide on the matter, "we would want stability and peace in the
region".
