Wednesday, July 9 2003 22:48 Hrs (IST)

Madurai: A Judicial magistrate on July 9 granted bail to senior Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader M K Azhagiri in the copyright violation case, for allegedly hiring and selling pirated cassettes.

The video piracy police had filed the case against him after raiding his video shop on June 16.

More than 4,000 cassettes were seized from the shop in the raid.

Azhagiri, elder son of DMK chief M Karunanidhi, was arrested on May 21 for his alleged involvement in the conspiracy to murder former minister Kiruttinan.
