Jammu: Six militants, including a top al-Badr ultra, were killed in separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir where a blast injured 18 civilians and security personnel seized a large quantity of arms and ammunition since July 10 night, official sources said.

Two al-Badr militants identified as area commander Al Anwar and Mohammad Shafiq, both Pakistani nationals, were killed in an exchange of fire with Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at Mahu village of Rajouri district on July 10 night, they said.

A joint team of Army and police personnel shot dead two Jaish-e-Mohammad militants Umar Gaznavi and Mohammad Kajar Hayat in Darhal area of Rajouri district.

An unidentified militant was killed in an encounter with a joint search party of Rashtriya Rifles and police at Mirgund village in Badgam district late on July 10 night, the sources said, adding the house in which the ultra was hiding was damaged in the operation.

As locals began removing the debris of the house, a powerful explosion took place on July 11 morning injuring 18 people, some of them seriously.

One Lashkar-e-Toiba militant identified as Mustafa Bhai was killed in an encounter with security forces at Sanderpora-Haren village in Kupwara district on July 11 morning.

BSF apprehended a 12-year Pakistani boy, Shakeel Khan, at Mohu border outpost in Akhnoor sector on July 10 evening after he inadvertently crossed the border following a quarrel with his family in Sialkote area, the sources said.

Meanwhile, during raids at militant hideouts in Rajouri and Poonch districts, security forces seized a huge quantity of arms and ammunition including one Pika gun with 100 rounds of ammunition, eight UBGL grenades and mortar bombs.

Two rounds of rocket launcher ammunition, one grenade fuse, 11 remote control improvised explosive device (IED) box, four AK magazines, 145 rounds of AK ammunition, 17 IED activation devices, three hand grenades, 500 gm explosive and four hand grenades were also seized, the sources said.
