Dowry harassment of men and misuse of law?
By Mukul Deshmuk

My simple question to people. In Indian scenario, how many men/women would believe a woman, who is crying that she has been harassed. Answer - 100%.

I have no doubts that dowry system exists and there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that this law is/has been misused by many women to have their motives met.

My friend was married to a girl whose relatives are in high posts in the govt of India. Small fight about the girl flirting with other men lead to the filing of dowry harassment case.

I pity the guy, as he has not filed a single complaint against the girl or her relatives. As he has his hands tied, he cannot prove anything to defend himself against the already biased people and political pressure.

I met both, after the girl filed the case. She agrees she has done it purposely but she went on with the case and finally both were divorced against both their wishes.

I don't think it is justice in any sense. I detest such girls who have created an environment where the girls who are actually in trouble would be looked upon with suspicion.

All I can do is pray for my friend to come out clean from this case. What else can we do?
