Railway Minister Nitish refuses to attend office
Tuesday, July 15 2003 10:09 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Nitish Kumar, who resigned from the government on July 14 perturbed over inner party wranglings, refused to take back his resignation on July 15 and said he would not attend office in Rail Bhavan.

Kumar said he was peeved when his party MP Prabhunath Singh tried to force Fernandes to revoke the expulsion of two party MPs Raghunath Jha and Brahmanand Mandal.

"Singh cannot hold the party to ransom by saying that if the expulsions were not revoked, he would resign from the party," Kumar said.

Mandal had levelled corruption charges against Kumar who urged Fernandes at the Samata National Council meeting on July 14 to get a judicial probe ordered into the charges and created a flutter by saying he will not come back to the government till he comes out clean.
