Gorakhpur (UP): Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani on July 16 said as many as 205 ISI (Inter-Services
Intelligence) bases and camps have been destroyed ever since the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) came
to power and pursued a policy of strengthening the national security.
Addressing a public meeting in Gorakhpur, Advani, who is on a day long visit, said India was both for
human approach to the issue of people-to-people contact with its neighbour and for dealing with an iron
hand the problem of cross-border terrorism.
In this context, he said the support people gave for the heart surgery of a Pakistani girl child in
Bangalore was an indication of humanitarian approach to the relationship between the two countries.
However, the Operation Sarpvinash launched in Jammu and Kashmir demonstrated government's firm
resolve to wipe out cross-border terrorism in the border state. As many as 65 to 70 militants were killed
in the operation, he said.
