Two activists of SIMI convicted under POTA

New Delhi: A designated court on July 16 convicted two activists of the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) for their membership of the banned outfit.

Additional sessions judge S N Dhingra convicted the accused – Mohammed Yasin Patel and Mohammed Ashraf Jaffrey – and fixed July 21 for hearing the arguments on quantum of sentence.
