Agartala-Dhaka bus service to be launched in August
Thursday, July 17 2003 11:19 Hrs (IST)

Dhaka: India and Bangladesh have decided to start a bus service between Agartala and Dhaka from August.

External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha said on July 16 that an agreement in that regard was reached during the Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meeting and the service is expected to be launched in the first week of August.

"I hope that the Bangladesh Minister for Transport can travel to Agartala to flag off this bus service," Sinha said after the two-day JEC meeting.

The Agartala-Dhaka bus comes after nearly four years of successful run of the Kolkata-Dhaka bus service.
