13 bogies of goods train fall into Hasdeo river
Thursday, July 17 2003 09:54 Hrs (IST)

Raigarh: As many as 13 bogies of a goods train fell into Hasdeo river from a bridge on July 17 in the South-Eastern Central Railway, Railway officials said.

The mishap took place between Korba and Kusmunda railway stations when the 59-bogies goods train, 13 of them loaded with coal, fell into the river at around 01.45 hours (IST), they said.

The officials did not rule out derailment as the cause of the accident.

They said that although no human life was lost in the incident, the coal stacked in the bogies might have washed out.

Senior Railway officials, including divisional railway manager of Bilaspur have rushed to the site of the accident.
