Mumbai: Actor Vivek Oberoi, who underwent an operation for a leg fracture on July 17, has been shifted
to the intensive care unit (ICU) of Hinduja Hospital after he complained of pain in his foot late on July 17
night.
Dr Sanjay Agarwala, the orthopaedic surgeon who performed operation on Vivek, on July 18 said the
actor had been shifted to the ICU to keep him away from the steady flow of visitors and to ensure that he
was more comfortable.
"He has been isolated and kept in the ICU to make him more comfortable and to keep him under medical
observation. There are no serious concerns regarding his health," Agarwala said.
"Vivek is progressing well. Vivek has been cracking jokes, is in high spirits and doing fine. We expect
him to stand up in a day or two with the help of crutches," he said.
Admitting that the actor was currently in pain, he said it has decreased since he was put on painkillers.
The 28-year-old actor had sustained a series of fracture on his left foot after a motorbike, which skidded
on a bridge, rammed onto him during the shooting of a film at Kolkata.
The actor, who had been shooting for several films, was expected to be out of action for nearly three
months owing to the injury.
